PROFIsafe V2.4 is based on a withdrawn version of the base IEC 61784-3 standard and may be only used in "replacement" scenarios.
Therefore, all newly developed F-Hosts and F-Devices have to support the new PROFIsafe V2.6 version.
Since there is a huge installation base of PROFIsafe V2.4 in the PROFIBUS context, (new) F-Hosts are mandated to still support V2.4 for compatibility reasons.
For F-Devices, the choice is up to you whether you still want to support V2.4 (in addition to V2.6) for replacement scenarios.
