There is no plan to change the HW version of the ETS. But in general, we are dependent on the manufacturer of the ETS HW which is Texas Instruments.

As for HW, two versions of the SoC exist and as far as I know, no further revisions are planned. First version of the SoC is not supported anymore by ETS FW, but that should not be an issue, as second revision is the only one you can buy from TI now.
