Renewing or prolonging certificates is possible as long as the product continues to be sold without any changes. In such cases, no new certification testing is required because the product remains unchanged.
For newly developed or updated products, certification testing with PN Version 2.46 in a PI Test Lab is currently expected to be available for approximately three years. However, due to anticipated market demand, an extension to five years is under discussion.
Whether products based solely on PN Version 2.46 will still be commercially viable after five years cannot be predicted today, as this will depend on future legal and market requirements.
