Galvanic Isolation on the Data lines
Does APL need a galvanic Isolation on the Data lines and within the power circuitry? E.g. with Isolation Transformers like in standard (PoE) Ethernet Solutions?
Re: Galvanic Isolation on the Data lines
APL uses inductors– common mode chocks and to couple the DC supply off the APL cable. The data is coupled of the cable using capacitors (capacitive coupling). Galvanic isolation is not required but may be handy to decouple the measurement front end and the communication as shown on slide 14 of my presentation.Webinar_Question wrote: ↑10 Jul 2024, 08:24 Does APL need a galvanic Isolation on the Data lines and within the power circuitry?
